Teachers Against Violence Project

 

 

In 2012 Karina Bagration,Phd, finished her first book called “The Olympic Games”. It is innovative in its twofold approach: while helping to boost English language skills, it also instills the Olympic values of peace and tolerance.

 

Gradually it developed into “Teachers Against Violence Project” with two aims:

 

 

  • To unite teachers, parents and children around ideas of non-violence and peaceful education.

  • To donate the personalized “The Olympic Games” book to charitable auctions helping to raise founds for peace building initiatives worldwide.

 

 

In 2013 the first issue of the  book was sold at “Sports Stars to Children” charitable auction organized by UN and  Malta Order. The proceeds went to help sports team made of refugee children.

                                                                                                      What we accomplished:

 

  • In 2013 the first issue of the book was sold at “Sports Stars to Children” charitable auction organized jointly by UN and Malta Order Embassy (Ukraine). Other lots were kindly donated by Andrea Agassi, Rafael Nadal, Mohammad Ali, Olympic Committee, top world football teams. The auction took place under patronage of United Nations Agency on Refugees, UNISEF and Angela Merkel. The proceeds went to help children’s refugee football team (Afghanistan).

  • Since 2013 the book and methodological materials make part of national educational program and since 2014 - included into the educational programs at university level(Ukraine)

  • In 2014 on language teaching and non-violent conflict resolution speaking tutorial was  translated into French and distributed free among parents and teachers by International Women’s Movement or the locally based educational projects.

  • In 2014 the International Women’s Movement (“Women, Broken Walls”) uniting more then 200 millions of Christian mothers in 73 pays distinguished the book as the one, which promotes Christian education and values.

  • Upon request , personalized "The Olympic Games" book was granted to Federal Department of Home Affairs FDHA,Federal Office of Culture FOC, Swiss National Library NL
